Ron Pieretti, Founder Facebook

Ron Pieretti the managing partner of Prospect 772 and Appaloosa Vineyards came to this project with the desire to fulfill a dream to produce fine wines under his own label. He started with a passion for both food and wine in San Francisco where he grew up and in his late teens and started working in the Restaurant industry with Dante Benedetti at the New Pisa in North Beach. He was encouraged by Dante to pursue fine dining and wines and quickly found his way to work for some of the finest establishments such as Bentley's for Kimpco Hotels, Scalini's at the Hyatt Regency and The Garden Court at the Sheraton Palace Hotel.

While working nights he found himself with extra time and in a chance encounter he met Kent Rosenblum and soon found himself working the harvest of 1993 for Rosenblum Cellars. For the next 3 years he worked days at the winery and nights and weekends at the Hyatt and Sheraton Palace when Kent asked him to concentrate his energies to Rosenblum where today he is Facility Operations and Grower Relations Manager.

During his early days at Rosenblum Cellars he made wine at home in his basement with his close friend Dan Flaherty, and soon realized that he wanted to do this on a more serious level. In 1999 he decided to sell his home in Alameda and follow his dream to grow and produce his own wines. After searching for and getting involved in a few other properties, he and Wendy made a weekend visit to an area they had never been to and they discovered what they were in search for.

A virtually undiscovered area in Angels Camp, California with soils and a climate suitable to grow Rhone Varietals of exceptional quality. What they found was the secret jewel of the Sierra's.
